Valentines Love!

Hello Lovelies! What a wonderful day it is: Valentines Day! A day of love, gifts, and happiness. I just love this day.

Today is not a day about being in a romantic relationship or not. Today is a day about spreading love to all of those around you, and knowing how much you are loved. Because the truth is- you are loved recklessly. Let’s not forget that. You are loved by SO many. Whether that be family, friends, neighbors, pets, etc.- you are loved. And also by me!

My friend, you are also loved by God. You are his beLOVEd. That is awesome! Today, no matter what struggles you face or what negative thoughts live in your head, God loves you! You are so worthy! Today and everyday! God loves every little detail of your soul. He loves your laugh, your smile, the way you look at things you love, the way you serve others, and more. God also loves our flaws. He loves you on your bad days where nothing seems to be going right. He loves you when you don’t love him. He loves you in the hard times. He loves everything in your heart, soul, and mind. Just as we love him. You are so worthy of his love. Don’t forget that today. Make today a reminder of all the love in your life, and remind those around you of how much they’re loved.

I love you!

Finish This Year With a Bang!

Hello lovelies! The end of the year is coming quick, and so is the stress that comes along with it. Finals, tests, semester grades, finding that perfect present, etc. are all so stressful. I’m already starting to feel the anxiety from all of the stuff piling up in my life.

But my friends, you are all so amazing. You are SO worthy. You are enough. You are a child of God. That makes you glorious. You are perfectly able to finish out this year strong. God is on your side. Sometimes we forget that the Lord is there through all of our stress and anxiety. He will only do what is best for us. When we forget about God, our stress levels rise. The comfort of God is where we should reside. It’s the sweet spot. When I feel scared or anxious, the thought of Jesus always fills me with warmth. That feeling is what we should feel all the time.

The end of the year is when we become tired. But, this is when we need to kick it into high-gear. We are all so capable of finishing this year with a bang. With God, all things are possible!

I love you all!

Hey beautiful friends! My youth pastor showed me this video last week, and I thought it was really great. Rob Bell goes deeper into God’s presence. From this video, I learned the Greek word, “pneuma” (nooma). In the Greek translation of the Bible, this word means “breath,” “wind,” and “spirit-“ all at the same time. So basically, every time you breathe, the spirit enters you. The spirit is what gives you life. As long as you are breathing, Jesus will always be in your soul. From your first breath as a newborn, to your last breath before death, the spirit will never leave you. I’ve had an experience with this. For a long time, I put all my anger towards God. Every day, I would curse him. I stopped being his friend. I refused to accept his love. But, he always stayed with me. When I was ready to put my faith back in him, he welcomed me. He loved me through all of my doubts. He looked past my hatred. And, He’ll do the same for you. He will always welcome you at his altar. He will welcome your sins, and your hate, and your insecurities, and your weaknesses. He will only show you kindness and love. He will show you what makes your soul happy. He loves you, and so do I! I hope you enjoy this video! It is worth the watch!

lots of love,

Jesus is the Reason!

Hello beautiful people! Happy holiday season! This is my absolute favorite time of year- when fall turns into turkey and Christmas blankets. I love the mood that comes with these months. It really is a season of joy. All of the twinkling lights and happy faces always warm my heart.

Jesus is the reason for the season. Truly. With Thanksgiving later this week, think about everything you’re thankful for: family, wealth, happiness, health, freedom, etc. Now think of Jesus. I am so thankful that Jesus died for me. And you. He sacrificed himself so we can have the gift of grace. How friggin cool is that. He paid the ultimate price. He went through all the pain and suffering, just so we can see a sliver of how much we’re loved. Be thankful for that this week.

I’m also thankful for Christmas. The feeling of opening presents on Christmas morning and wearing your flannel pajamas to bed are because of the creator. God sent his one and only son down to Earth to show us how to love. He was the best teacher. Ever. God worked a miracle of placing baby Jesus in virgin Mary’s womb. All so we can receive his grace.

Remember how much your’e loved this holiday season. Remember how much has been sacrificed to give you grace. None of us deserve it. But we still receive it. And for that, I’m so thankful.

happy holidays,

Squash Hate

Hey y’all, I’m so sorry I haven’t written! Life has gotten really crazy this past month. In this blog, I’m going to write about some touchy topics, so please keep the negative comments to your self. Thank you! I love you all!

Saturday, October 28, 2018. A shooter broke fire on Jews congregating in a synagogue, in the place where they worshipped. It was a hate crime against Jews. Many died and many were injured. This is a tragedy. I’m at a loss for words. My whole heart goes out to the families of the victims, the victims, the survivors, and the city of Pittsburgh.

This is not ok. Hate should not drive our decisions. We are commanded to love. That’s it. No exceptions. The bible doesn’t say love everyone- except for some. It doesn’t say to only love the people like you. It doesn’t say to love only the people who think like you. It doesn’t say to only love the people who walk and talk like you. It just says to love.

Love thy neighbor as thyself, there is no commandment greater than this.

Mark 12:31

In Mark, Jesus tells us that the greatest commandment is to love. It isn’t to judge others. It isn’t to only love the people like you. It isn’t to persecute people. We are all God’s children. We were all created with his grace. No exceptions. God loves the Jews. He loves the Christians. He loves the queer. He loves the sinners. He loves the children. He loves the elders. He loves the Muslims. He loves the males and the females. So why shouldn’t we?

We are all one in the body of Christ. Jesus came down to make us one.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:28

Jesus said these words. He made us one. Everyone he met, he loved. Everyone. No exceptions. We need to face this world with the spirit of Jesus in our heart. We need to love recklessly. Go out of your way to stomp out hate. Don’t let the devil win.

Reading the Word

Hey beautiful people! Like I said in my last post, I really have lost my connection with God. I haven’t read scripture all that much and I’ve stopped my daily praying. This morning, I heard a sermon that I really needed: how to get into the word.

Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Ephesians 6:17

Reading the word has so many benefits. It helps you grow closer to God, it helps you in your day to day life, and helps you gain wisdom. Right now, I’m in the middle of reading the whole thing- start to finish. It’s been really tough sticking to a schedule and keeping up with my readings, but it is SO worth it! I feel so much comfort when reading. It’s almost like God is speaking directly to me. I learn more and more each time I read. All of these stories and verses I heard about when I was little are finally making sense. Reading the wonders of the Lord is really just opening my eyes into how great our God is.

Many people get overwhelmed when it comes to opening the word. With so many things to read, its hard to know where to start. One way I got into reading was the YouVersion Bible App. I started a one year plan and I have 3-7 assigned chapters everyday. This plan has really worked for me. Although, for many people, this plan isn’t for them. Reading the whole thing might not be what you’re looking for. This app has many great plans on friendship, grace, bible stories, etc. You can find a plan for pretty much any topic! Devotional books also help. You can find books with daily readings and devotionals pretty much anywhere. It doesn’t matter how or where you do it. As long as you’re reading, you will reap the benefits!

You may not want to stick to a plan or devo book, so here’s some cool things to read:

  • 1 Corinthians 13- How to love
  • Romans – Why do we need a savior?
  • James 1-5- Perseverance and character
  • Genesis – The beginning
  • John- Who is Jesus, really?
  • Ephesians- Christian living
  • 1 John- How does God love us?
  • Psalms- Encouragement in poems
  • Acts- How was Christianity first spread?

These are just a few places to start. The bible gets so deep and is so beautiful. All you have to do is start digging. It will fill your soul with warmth and wisdom. Happy reading!

So much love,

Relationships With God

What is up beautiful people! I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in a while! Y’all, I have been so so busy this past week. I have had crazy amounts of schoolwork and other activities. I’m so glad to be back!

This past week, my relationship with God has kind of been on the back burner. I haven’t prayed often, I haven’t read any scripture, I been “too busy for God.” This isn’t the best thing to do in times of stress, but it is definitely ok. It’s so much easier to go through busy times with God right by your side, but even when you’re not thinking about him, he’s thinking about you. It’s ok to not have your cup overflowing at all times. It’s ok to have that lapse in faith. Don’t be stressed about not having God in the very front of your thoughts at all times. Not everyone is perfect. I know I stress about my relationship with God way to much.

Your relationship with God doesn’t always have to be outstanding. You can have times of doubt and worry. As long as you are striving to create a better relationship with Jesus, all is well.

I have had so many times when my relationship with God slacked. It was either I was mad at him, I didn’t make time for him, I forgot to pray, etc. But he never left. I still had the comfort of his presence. I could still feel him there.

Going into new stresses and responsibilities, remember that you don’t have to be perfect. Your relationship with God doesn’t have to be perfect. Just remember that he always has your back. Always. Even when you don’t realize it.

So much love,
